If you find drool on this page, it's either mine, or the editor's been sleeping at his desk again! The 18 wonderful dishes presented here sport enough variety in taste, color and texture to turn the heads of Julia, Graham and Emeril. Pleasant hosts and instructors Angelica Ruiz and Vineeta Santoshi show viewers how to clean, dice, slice, chop and grate ingredients (which are also listed onscreen), offering clear, easy to follow instructions enhanced by close-up camerawork, as they set the stage for a journey to cooking nirvana. The menu includes Indian dishes such as Tandoori Chicken and Indian Lentils; Chinese cuisine items Spicy Peanut Chicken and Ma Po Tofu; Italian favorites Tomato Mozzarella, Lemon Chicken, and Veggie Pasta Marinara, as well as side salads such as Shrimp Noodle and Artichoke Rice, and One Pot Meals including Turkey Chili and Beef Stew. Had enough? Actually, that's only about two-thirds of the dishes covered in this cornucopia of ethnic cuisine. Although the production values are not all that spiffy, the instruction is solid, and the accompanying recipe booklet not only includes ingredients and instructions for preparing all 18 dishes, but also contains an index of running-times for locating specific recipes. Overall, a nice blend of simple and inspiring international fare, this tasty program is definitely recommended. Aud: H, P. (N. Plympton)
