This is a passable, if not very tightly focused, introduction to the art of watercolor painting. Dean Davis, an Evansville, Indiana artist, opens by showing viewers the various tools necessary for watercolor painting (a nicely economic tool kit: sponges, water jug, pencils with erasers, drawing pad, etc.) This is followed by a short course in design: discussing the use of contrast (warm/cool colors, light/dark colors, etc.) Finally, a thumbnail sketch of a rural farm scene is transferred onto the canvas. The painting section is fairly lifeless, as far as lively narration or interesting camerawork goes. The painting does get made-but without much enthusiasm, or much care for the order in which information is delivered (much of the tape appears to be impromptu.) Not a necessary purchase. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
