If you need one more for expectant parents, this is a nice little q & a tape featuring doctors (and other experts) discussing a wide range of topics, including morning sickness, weight gain, typical fears, diet and nutrition, sex, exercise, childbirth classes, safety issues, and how to tell if you're in labor, with humorous vignettes dropped in here and there featuring a couple who argue and worry their way through pregnancy. Nothing startling or particularly revelatory, but the format is pleasant, the information is timely and correct, and the humor is cute. Although, I have to admit, the biggest laugh comes not from the video program, but from the video box, which proclaims: "The first home video for the soon-to-be mom and dad." First title in the second hundred perhaps. Public libraries always need good, up-to-date pre- and post-natal titles, and this inexpensive entry is a good choice for starting or adding to a parenting (or pre-parenting) collection. Recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
