Had John Gray produced it, this tape would surely have been called The Making of My Favorite Martian. It consists mainly of groups of Venusians (Gray-ian for "women") sitting around and discussing what they like and dislike most about dating Martians (Gray-ian for "men"). I found it kind of refreshing that in spite of so many changes in the "dating game," this group of Gen-XX'ers (as opposed to XY'ers) would still take Cary Grant over Howard Stern any day. Self-confidence, a nice smile and sense of humor are far preferred over a six figure income, good looks, flashy car and cologne. Most of the young women here agree that if they are making prolonged eye contact with a man in public, they are disappointed if the man does not come over to talk to them. Men are advised not to be too afraid of rejection, but also to be natural and fun instead of using worn out pick-up lines. And all agree that "intimacy" is the real aphrodisiac. For those who already think that owning a Y chromosome means that you come from the shallow end of the gene pool, this tape might be a springboard to improvement. The rest of us have already reverted to low self esteem, ratty clothing, one date a year, no cologne at all and sleepless nights. We're married with children. Recommended. Aud: C, P. (R. Ray)
