Writing Erotica for Fun & Profit is very much like the video version of Strunk & White's grammar classic The Elements of Style (VL-1/89): a waste of videotape. Dennis J. Lubrano sits in a chair and reads his 75-page manual entitled Writing Erotica for Fun & Profit from cover to cover. Regardless of whether the information is useful or not (and some of it probably is for aspiring heavy-breathing fiction types), the video is pointless. The fact that the program is purely home video quality and shot on a windy day outside to boot only makes matters worse. By itself, the videocassette is $29.95; for $49.95, you also get a copy of the manual Lubrano reads, as well as some additional reference material and sample queries and letters. Not recommended. As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
