If you've been wondering how to focus your attention during orgasm, here's the secret: "close your nose." If you want to know more, you'll just have to fast forward to the "Yoga and Sexuality" segment. Filmed on the 100th anniversary of the coming of yoga to America (via the swami Vikekananda) at the Unity in Yoga conference in May, 1993, Yoga Today offers an interesting series of interview clips with instructors, doctors, psychiatrists and practitioners, including PBS guru Lilias Folan and several swamis with notably long names. In addition to sex, the interviewees talk about yoga's relationship with health, mind and spirit, the material world, and religion. The program does a very good job of cutting through the hyperbole and myth associated with yoga to talk about the very real physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of the age-old practice. In between the comments, we see yoga practitioners demonstrating the art, including one young Russian gentleman who was exceptionally supple Like my dog, this guy could easily scratch behind his ear with his foot if he wanted to. Sure to appeal to and enlighten those curious souls who would like to know what yoga's all about. Recommended. (R. Pitman)
