Following the success of the excellent The Power of Choice series, which was targeted towards teens, comic Michael Pritchard brings his insightful humor to elementary school children in the first four episodes of the equally superb You Can Choose! series. Each program uses a similar format: speaking in a school auditorium, Pritchard introduces the subject at hand with reminiscences of his own childhood, and then turns the stage over to his team of skit players: Missy, Rhonda, Tuggie, and Moose, who act out the first half of a skit. Once the dilemma is presented, Pritchard bounces the problem off a classroom audience before showing the end of the skit and the resolution of the situation. The skits are wonderful, and it's a joy to see the rapt expressions on the faces of the young audience as they get caught up in stories wit which they can readily identify. Comic Michael Pritchard's rare gift is that his humor appeals equally to children and adults. The whole family will appreciate the trials and tribulations of Missy, Rhonda, Tuggie, and Moose as they struggle with the subjects of "Cooperation," "Being Responsible," Dealing With Feelings," and "Saying No to Smoking." Fast-paced, challenging, and ultimately beneficial to today's children who are sorely lacking in role models, the You Can Choose! series is top-notch educational entertainment for both school and public libraries. Highly recommended. (Available from: Live Wire Video Publishers, 3315 Sacramento St., San Francisco, CA 94118.)
