Widely distributed in retail stores, this film features licensed interior designer Deborah Burnett demonstrating easy, affordable ways to organize space using decorative devices one might pick up in such retail outlets. The program covers: furniture arrangement for a small bedroom, creating a home office in a closet, adding artistic flair to kitchen counter tops, five principles for arranging pictures, and organizing bathroom clutter. Each segment is connected by a "quick tip," e.g. organizing a woman's tool box, antiquing a mirror, or measuring a room. Throughout, viewers are urged to eliminate superfluous material and to experiment with their own ideas. Generally helpful, middle-of-the road advice (though book lovers should shudder at Burnett's habit of using stacks of books to support lamps and television sets). An optional purchase. (J. Reed)
