Did you know that marijuana could be hazardous to your cat's health? Then maybe you should watch this video. Would you like to know how to take a cat's temperature where the sun doesn't shine? No? Then definitely don't watch this video. I love my cat as much as the next girl, but I believe some things ought to be left to the vet. Dr. James Southard, D.V.M., would have us believe otherwise. His video is intended to explain what constitutes a feline emergency and what does not (using brilliant guidelines including "a little wound is not as bad as a big wound"). The video is time-coded so that the next time your cat drinks a gallon of antifreeze, you'll know where to fast forward. In all fairness, Dr. Southard provides helpful tips on dressing a cat's wound, checking vital signs, and caring for a pregnant cat. He also gives mouth-to-mouth to poor Mimi, his feline assistant who stares blankly as Southard performs all manner of first aid on her. However, decent how-to material cannot atone for the amateurish production and exceptionally high price of this pet care video. Not recommended. Aud: P. Adult. (A. Laker)
