This comprehensive, genuinely useful, skillfully produced "how to" covers all aspects of bartending: glassware and equipment, tips and techniques, recipes, responsible bartending and advice on finding work. Instructor Brett Rose is articulate and friendly. He's disarmingly amateur before the camera, but formidable behind the bar. His technique in preparing and serving drinks with speed and accuracy is awesome, and he operates from a richly equipped bar stocked with premium brands. Viewers will need to follow along with the handbook as he prepares drinks-- trendy and traditional-- from many of the 200+ recipes which it provides. And they'll need to seriously practice in order to bring skills up to a professional level. Highly recommended as a vocational tool or for anyone interested in home entertaining. (J. Reed)
