This HBO series stars Bryan Greenberg and Victor Rasuk as best friends Ben and Cameron, who are hustling their way through the streets of New York in an attempt to realize the American Dream. As they try to put together their own hip fashion line, the pair jump at every opportunity to hit it big, aiming high and often slipping back down. The second season parallels their ongoing story with the efforts of Rene Calderon (Luis Guzmán), a small-time mobster out to build his own empire as the exclusive distributor of a new energy drink, and Rachel Chapman (Lake Bell), a writer hoping to get her career off the ground. For all the show's attempts at street-smart storylines and Big Apple atmosphere—with characters bouncing between living large and going broke—the series is still a fantasy about existing on wits, talent, and smooth talk in the margins between art and commerce—a good idea that suffers from hipster clichés. Compiling the final eight episodes originally aired in 2011 (the show was canceled), extras include audio commentaries and behind-the-scenes featurettes. Optional. (S. Axmaker)
