What do people hate about the way they look? Everybody's got something that bugs them about their physical appearance, perhaps because--as society continually reminds us--looks count. This made-for-broadcast video (complete with "we'll be right back's") takes its cues from standard magazine shows, offering segments on the societal problem of being overweight, celebrity exercise videos, the human growth hormone (touted as a "fountain of youth"), cosmetic surgery, anorexia, and what we at home can do to stay "looking good." (Eat right and exercise - surprise!) Fast-paced, though short on really substantial reporting, most of the segments still contain a decent amount of information (however glossed over), and a free guide is offered from KOMO-TV for details missed here. However, there's not much discussed that we haven't already heard on Oprah. An optional purchase. (E. Druda)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
