J Zimmerman is a freelance writer and aspiring librarian from Northwest Arkansas. After earning his Bachelor's in History and Creative Writing, J considered a career in Montessori education before the pandemic. After finishing his Masters in Library and Information Science at Wayne State University during 2020, J struggled to find work in the field. Currently, J is employed as a senior researcher for The Humanities Institute, where he focuses on silent film, classic film, and erotica. He also publishes reviews, interviews, and editorials in other periodicals such as The Sound View: Independent Film Digest and IndieMR. A longtime amateur critic before finding work as one, J has a wide-ranging taste and appreciation for film (and plenty of opinions to share about them). Feel free to contact J at j.z.film.writer@gmail.com if you have any corrections, tips on Arkansas library news, or just want to say hello.
