Magician Linda Marie hosts this introduction to magic which features a half-dozen magic tricks ranging from simple to complex which kids can perform using everyday household items. Each trick is demonstrated first, and then Marie breaks down the trick and shows step-by-step how the illusion is achieved. The basic components of the tricks offered in this volume are cards, newspaper, handkerchiefs, string, and coins; and the effects (recombining cut string and torn newspaper, or passing coins through a handkerchief) are a little more complicated than the standard beginning magic tricks. Inexpensive, and sure to be popular, Magic That's Fun! places more emphasis on quality than quantity with tricks that will truly wow the young magician's audience (although, frankly, one wishes there had been more tricks included on the tape). In addition to the tricks, Marie also cautions viewers to "never repeat tricks," and always keep the trick "secret," as well as guiding viewers to their local libraries for more information on the subject of magic.
