Where does water come from? If you answered "the faucet," you'd be absolutely right (but only partially correct). The faucet is only one stage in H2O's journey through the water cycle. Produced by the Seattle-King Co. Health Dept., this spiffy-looking delightful short film follows the adventures of little drip, an animated drop of water who lands--splat!--on a young boy's bedroom window. Desperately wanting to get back to the ground water, so he can rejoin the water cycle, Little Drip explains how water evaporates from the lakes and rivers, forms clouds, produces rain (particularly in the Seattle area), goes into the aquifers underground, and ends up floating young tykes' rubber duckies in the bath. Nifty special effects shrink the boy down so that he and Little Drip can take the water cycle trip together, and Little Drip imparts a few valuable lessons along the way concerning pollution and water conservation. A good intro to the subject which is attractively priced and suitable for both elementary school and public library audiences. Ages 6-9. (R. Pitman)
