Culled from several direct-to-video Veggie Tales (the computer-animated Christian kids series that combines "Sunday morning values with Saturday morning fun"), this countdown of fans' 10 favorite "Silly Songs with Larry" segments, hosted by the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, will be welcomed by longtime aficionados and serves up a nice introduction for newbies. Starring Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato, the wacky music videos include "Endangered Love" (a manatee love song), "The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps" (who mistakenly thinks he cures his patients with his vocal cords, when the real cure lies in his nurse's surreptitious advice), "His Cheeseburger" (an…um…gastronomical love song), "Love My Lips" (think Freud meets preschool anatomy songs), and--at No. 1--"The Hairbrush Song" (a touching ode to a hairbrush sung by a hairless cucumber). For two bucks more, the DVD offers up a slew of extras, including commentary from Big Idea founders Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki, deleted footage, a karaoke number, and various hidden Easter eggs (such as the hit song "Oh Santa"). Definitely recommended. Aud: K, E, P. (R. Pitman)
