Towards the end of a Tour of Nashville, there's a brief interview clip with an aspiring C&W singer. It's a moment of fresh air on this whirlwind tour and it's the exception rather than the rule. Opening with a bit of history, the video visits Fort Nashborough, touches on the Battle of Nashville, looks at The Hermitage (President Jackson's home), and drops in at the Tennessee State Museum. There are occasionally chunks of related material (particularly in the sections on Music Row and the Grand Ole Opry); however, the program tends to jumps all over the place. The voice-over narration is delivered too rapidly at times and often without pauses between comments, and the narrator is usually competing with the overloaded background music. Finally, the video quality, while not poor, is still not as crisp as one usually finds in top-notch travel videos. Not a necessary purchase. Other titles in the series include a Tour of Memphis, a Tour of Branson, and a Tour of Little Rock & Hot Springs. (R. Pitman)
