What's the best thing about 2nd-grade in Catholic school? Well, according to one of the 2nd-graders interviewed here from St. John's Catholic School in Napa, CA, it's "hot lunch." Art Linkletter built an empire out of choice observations from the mouths of babes, and Jona Frank's entertaining short documentary combining a day-in-the-life glimpse coupled with kids' answers to topical questions on God, Jesus, love, heaven, marriage, and more, captures some jewels. Viewers will learn that heaven has "lots of trees to climb," hell is a "big red place," and that the devil has "three little servants." Libraries with larger budgets will surely want to consider this charming snapshot of Catholic school kids at play, prayer and cogitation over the big theological questions. Recommended. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
