Here's a new vacation idea: why not ski the volcanoes from California to British Columbia? A group of guys hit the snow (and ash) covered slopes of Mounts Shasta, South Sister, Bachelor, Hood, Adams, St. Helens, and Garibaldi Provincial Park. Filmmaker Shawn Emery tosses in a little history (Mt. St. Helens erupting), a little travel blues (weather conditions keep the crew in a parking lot for a couple of days), and a little skiing. But the skiing doesn't hold a candle to a Warren Miller ski film and the travel part is frankly boring and workmanlike (we don't even get to really meet the group members). Regional libraries might want to consider since local teenagers will surely want to prove that, they too, are prime mental institution material; for others this is an optional purchase. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
