This is being touted as a "great P.G. family movie." If watching a patent exhibitionist run around in a loincloth, baring his butt on occasion; indulging in adulterous fantasies; and never missing an opportunity to deliver a stale joke about feces, flatulence, or belching is prime family fare, then the American family may as well pack it in. Originally titled Sullivan's Pavilion, this extended home movie by and about the family of filmmaker (using the term broadly) Fred G. Sullivan, is basically a compilation of amateur film footage detailing the day-to-day existence of Fred, his wife Polly, and their four children. Film buffs are likely to get some laughs from Sullivan's account of his efforts to get his 1982 feature film Cold River made and distributed, but most people simply won't care. There's nothing wrong with someone pursuing their creative interests--but if you're going to flaunt it in front of the public, you better have something to show. Sullivan doesn't. Not recommended.
