Produced in conjunction with the Whatcom Museum of History & Art, this rambling documentary which offers a "history of the Northwest and Alaska salmon industry and the Pacific American Fisheries Co.," features retired PAF employee Stan Tarrant voice-over reminiscing about the fishing fleets, salmon trapping techniques, and cannery work, while archival film clips display same. Neither comprehensive, nor particularly well researched (Tarrant recalls that Chinese cannery workers in Alaska at mid-century "received good treatment"--though it was more likely unequal treatment), The Great Age of Salmon and the PAF assumes a regional audience, and is only an optional purchase for coastal Washington and Alaska libraries.
