"Heads roll," as Joe Bob Briggs used to say, in this graphically violent follow-up to the anime classic M. D. Geist. In a cinematic orgy of testosterone-laden action that would have put a smile on Sam Peckinpah's face, M. D. Geist II finds the poor citizens of Jerra still at the mercy of the Death Force robots (whose two favorite activities appear to be decapitating and disemboweling). Only a Geist unit (part man/part machine) can stop the destruction, and this episode features a pair (one good, the other evil--naturally). Definitely not for the weak of stomach, M.D. Geist II is gratuitous violence personified; it's also top of the line Japanese animation, which fans will want to see. Highly recommended. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
