Michael Rennie, where are you? Fans of the 1960 version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's dino classic or even the 1925 silent version with Wallace Beery can equally despise this lame remake featuring Patrick Bergin (Sleeping With the Enemy) as the intrepid Professor Challenger, who leads an expedition of skeptics and opportunists into Northern Mongolia in the 1930s to prove his claim of a "lost world" of prehistoric dinosaurs. Viewers will see precious little in the way of dinos here: a few pterodactyls, a brontosaurus, very rubbery-looking little raptors and a t-rex. In fact, the most entertaining tidbit here was the screener box, which boasted--somewhat redundantly--that the film was "based on the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes works, ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles', and much more." Not recommended. (R. Pitman)
