The first in a multi-volume series on careers, Day in the Career: Paralegal is mostly comprised of interview clips with paralegal Nancy Cicio, and attorneys/instructors Michael Stromberg and Michael Berone on the educational requirements and day-to-day job duties of paralegals. The production is fairly low-budget, with substandard audio (background voices and some audio hum), and the quality of the information varies. General quotes on salary seem reasonable but some suggestions are strange (such as learning WordPerfect 5.1, which seems unnecessarily specific, not to mention dated). Other titles in the series include: Computer Programmer, Social Worker, X-Ray Technologist, and Physical Therapist. The Video Careers Library Series (VL-5/89; titles are bi-annually updated) is a better choice here. Not recommended. (R. Pitman)
