Olympic medal winning athlete and lower leg amputee Bonnie St. John Deane working with fitness trainer Jon Giese presents an invigorating workout for lower limb amputees and people with leg and ankle injuries in this superbly produced exercise video. Divided into four segments--warm-up, cardiovascular, strengthening, and cool-down--the workout is performed in a chair and on a mat, with special attention paid to issues (balance, visualization, phantom pain, etc.) pertaining to lower limb amputees. Although you might not be able to imagine a heart-pumping cardiovascular chairbound workout, Fitness for All demonstrably proves it's quite possible (I have all my limbs and I was beginning to give my deodorant a reasonable workout after about five minutes). Excellent production values, expert instruction, and the inspirational guidance of host Bonnie St. John Deane make this a real boon to the three million amputees nationwide as well as those viewers with leg and ankle injuries. Highly recommended. Editor's Choice. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
