From George Levenson, the producer of the outstanding Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes (reviewed in our March 1992 issue), this new program is a slick and entertaining guide to the fairly complex task of folding an origami paper crane. Following an opening montage of scenes from Sadako with an explanation of her story and the significance of the thousand cranes, Levenson offers humorous narration while we watch a lively pair of gloved hands perform each of the 26 folds necessary to make the paper crane. Both the video and audio qualities are top notch, and a detailed instruction brochure which also carries information about Sadako is included with the tape. Still, the price seems a bit steep for a "how-to." However, this would be an excellent and useful choice for elementary and middle schools and for public libraries who would be using the program for children's story hours. Highly recommended, with the above reservation. (R. Pitman)
