There's only a few things you can do to correct a handling problem once you've got your dwarf car at the racetrack, and one of them is to "move the rear roll center via moving the panhard bar up or down." Obviously, that's pretty common knowledge to most people, but How to Set Up Your Dwarf/Legends Car to Win goes way beyond the elementary stuff to offer viewers truly technical (including formulas) information on optimizing their chances of winning a big race with a small car. Host Tristan Dupuis using a clipboard, blackboard, dwarf car in various stages, and aided by some simple animated graphics, gives racing enthusiasts the lowdown on safety, handling, front and rear geometry, wheels and tires, balance, and fixing specific problems like the aforementioned panhard bar thingamajig. The brand name of Simpson gets waved around a bit too much for my non-commercial tastes, and the subject matter is definitely arcane; still the video librarian who thinks he or she has everything will definitely want to consider this. Recommended, with reservations. [Note: for those of you wondering what a dwarf car is, I presume it's the vehicle in which much of the cast of The Wizard of Oz got to and from work each day.] (R.
