The next time you're slurping down your alphabet soup, consider this: you may be destroying some perfectly good jewelry. Art instructor Ann Felice and a group of budding Rembrandts take on the fashion world in the latest installment of the Let's Create series (Let's Create a Better World was reviewed in VL-7/94), showing young viewers how to make a wide array of cool jewelry that's not priced at designer brand levels. Among the nine art projects profiled on the tape are bread dough jewelry (such as bread dough rose pins, paper "pile-up" pins using colored construction paper, yarn bracelets, paper machè necklaces, name pins (using the aforementioned alphabet soup letters, and, my personal favorite: gelatin medallions). These last are humongous psychedelic disks that are made with clear jello and food coloring. I'm on my way to the grocery store right now; we've got a wedding anniversary coming up, and I think my wife Anne is going to be very very surprised. An excellent, wonderfully creative arts and crafts tape for ages 5-9. Highly recommended. (R. Pitman)
