The idea for the Let's Talk Law series is a good one: affordable videos aimed at laypersons which discuss common legal situations. Unfortunately, the filmmakers haven't transferred the idea very well to video. In Problems in the Workplace (called Rights in the Workplace on the actual tape), host Mike Villani discusses unemployment compensation, worker's compensation, sexual harassment, age discrimination, maternity leave rights, and discrimination against people with disabilities. While the program does address the subject of seeking legal redress and steers people toward the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) for more information, the material is presented in a dry manner--heavy on legalese, short on example, with visual aids pretty much reduced to text summary points. Other titles in the series include: Selecting an Attorney, Small Claims, Marriage/Divorce/Custody, and Bankruptcy. Although not the best use of the video medium, these should still be considered for purchase since the presentation is professional, the information useful, and the price exceptionally low. (R. As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
