Emmy-award winning TV reporter John Spiropoulos (How to Stretch Your Retirement Dollar [VL- 11/93], College Freshman Survival Guide [VL-2/93]) hosts this brief guide to investing. Combining excellent graphics, quick interviewee sound bites, and commentary from a trio of financial planners, the program looks at various investment options (CD's, bonds, stocks, and mutual funds) and their different degrees of risk and potential returns. While the production is top-notch, the short running time (22 min.) is just not long enough to adequately cover such a wide range of topics. And, although there's more information in the accompanying 25-page booklet, the booklet is referred to as a "workbook" throughout the tape, and viewers are encouraged to fill out the few worksheets included inside. These drawbacks make Money Wise Investing an optional purchase. While also fairly short, a better choice here would be Demystifying the Stock Market (VL-7/94). (R. Pitman)
