Professional Realism 3

From artist Quinten Gregory (whose Shadows, The Secret of Light was reviewed in our May 1992 issue), this third title in the Professional Realism series has Gregory demonstrating techniques for painting skies, sunsets and sunrises, clouds, and fog and haze, using both oils and watercolors. The opening song, a religious ode, seems a little out of place, but otherwise the close-up work is fine and the instruction is sound. As in earlier titles, Gregory pays particular attention to the importance of light and shadows. Recommended for larger "how-to" art collections. Other titles by Gregory include You Can Paint Ducks!, Lithography, and Artist in the Tetons, in addition to the two earlier Professional Realism videos. (R. Pitman)
