Although sun tans might appear to give off that glow of good health, a sun tan is literally a sign of damaged skin. Aimed at elementary level children, this program features a young host explaining the various types of rays which emanate from the sun, including the potentially dangerous ultraviolet rays which can not only burn the skin, but--with repeated overexposure--lead to various forms of skin cancer. Viewers are advised to use sunblock lotion with at least an SPF-15 rating, avoid being in the sun for too long between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., dress safely, and forget about tanning salons completely--no matter what the ad says. A good, quick overview. Recommended. Aud: E, I. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
