Intended as a cautionary note for teens who want to soak up the sun but aren't aware of the health hazards, Suntan Now, Skin Cancer Later is a sobering look at the three skin cancers (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and the much less frequent malignant melanoma), and the simple steps that young people can take to greatly reduce their chances of getting skin cancer in later life. Suggestions for sunscreen use, times of day to avoid being in the sun, and tips on clothing, are interspersed with interviews with skin cancer patients Grace Price (whose sore-infested leg will surely make people think twice about unprotected and prolonged sunbathing) and Helen Grivich. Recommended for middle and high school heath collections. Public libraries may also want to consider. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
