Germs are everywhere, and one of their most popular methods for entering the human body is from hand to mouth. Howard Hughes knew this, which is why he carried a box of Kleenex with him at all times. This training guide is comprised of a brief skit in which an adult male named Robert is reminded by an otherwordly voice to wash his hands after using the bathroom. At first he tries to do the sprinkle a few drops routine, but is eventually instructed in the art of a good, solid hand scrubbing. He also--and Howard would certainly have approved of this--uses the paper towel he dried his hands with to open the (no doubt) germ-infested bathroom door. Also available in a Spanish-language version, this is a rather pricey little guide on what would seem to be a pretty straightforward topic. Still, the Center for Disease Control has stated that "hand washing is the single most important means of preventing the spread of infection" and, obviously, a good many folk don't wash their hands after using the restroom. Recommended, with reservations, for larger health collections. (R. Pitman)
