With the rush of slick new guides to Windows 95 (including Learn! Microsoft Windows 95 [VL-1/96] and Brit Hume's Survival Guide to Microsoft Windows 95 [VL-3/96], both priced at $19.95) this higher priced entry offers half the information and sparkle of previous entries. Beginning with the ubiquitous guide to installation, the video basically introduces viewers to the new desktop, highlights Windows 95 multi-tasking capabilities, and demonstrates how easy it is to add new hardware and software to your computer (assuming, of course, that these items are Plug & Play, and bug-free--all of you who have actually spent time working with Windows 95 are invited, at this point, to send a Bronx raspberry to Microsoft headquarters). An enclosed disk, with a couple old DOS 1994 programs, can be safely tossed. Too much price for too little info in a market already crowded with top-notch product. Not recommended. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
