Perhaps the only laws more complicated than the I.R.S. code are the rules of English, which have tripped us all up (or is that "tripped up us all"?) at some point. Usually about the time we discover that some stupid people think there is no Santa Claus, we learn that the most important rule in English grammar is that there are exceptions to every rule. The bottom line here is that kids need all the help they can get when it comes to learning the peccadilloes of the English language, which is why Word Clue Adventure--which is informative, entertaining, and set in a library!--is a boon. Combining clever animation, funny songs, and easy-to-remember instruction, the program follows David and Ashley, a pair of kids visiting the library, as they become involved in an adventure under the guidance of an animated "B" (which stands for a wacky character named BiblioTech). Wending their way through the library, David and Ashley learn some very helpful rules for decoding the mysteries of the English language...and that sometimes you just have to throw in the paper towel and memorize the ridiculously spelled word (like "laugh"). Solid scripting, impressive production values, and a great setting (the Corvalis-Benton County Public Library) make this a very good choice. Highly recommended. Aud: E, P. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
