For some people, the notion of strawberry fields forever doesn't conjure up visions of peace, love, and fond remembrances of psychedelic drugs, but rather a nightmare of wheezing, sneezing, and runny eyes. Allergies--to pollen, animal dander, smoke, dust, chemical fumes, and Rush Limbaugh--are a common affliction of the young and old, but there are ways to help avoid the triggers which send us groping for our Benadryl and reduce the impact of those allergens (like dust and Rush Limbaugh) that we cannot eliminate completely. Although hosted by a trio of wisecracking teens, this fun and informative guide offers information beneficial to all ages. After a brief introduction explaining what allergies are (relatively harmless substances that the body's immune system thinks are threatening, thereby provoking a physical response), the program explores the common allergens and suggests a number of ways that people can ease their allergic reactions, ranging from using a hypoallergenic vacuum cleaner to exchanging dust-collecting mini-blinds for curtains that can be washed weekly. Solutions to Limbaugh exposure are, unfortunately, not covered. Inexpensive and genuinely helpful, this brief guide is highly recommended. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
