So you want to add a new wing to the library? Ladies and gents, fire up your ovens and let the cookie baking begin, right? Not exactly. Chocolate chip cookie sales won't put much of a dent in a project that's going to cost a half million dollars, and You're in the Money, hosted by Al Meckler, offers ideas and tips for searching out and reeling in bigger contributions. Combining interviews with library directors and administrators with overlaid narrative pointers, the program addresses the "why, what, and who" aspects of fundraising: planning, organizing, and conducting the fundraising campaign (and after the hors d'ouevres, don't forget to actually ask for the money). While some of the suggestions are fairly obvious (if you're not familiar with LSCA grants by now, you need to go back to school), some of the pointers could pay off with handsome dividends for the library that needs to raise big bucks. Recommended. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
