In this sequel to the sequel (Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon S and now Sailor Moon Super S) of the popular Japanese anime series, Usagi and her high school aged micro-skirted gal pals battle the Dead Moon Circus's Amazon Trio--Fish-Eye, Tiger's-Eye and Hawk's-Eye--who are sent by ringmaster Zirconia to find a unicorn named Pegasus, believed to be hiding out in one of the girl's dreams. Plotwise, this is thinner than Oliver Twist's porridge, as the majority of the six episodes share essentially the same story line: the Amazon Trio target a girl for dream inspection, resulting in a climactic battle with various Dead Moon Circus fiends squaring off against the "super" girls, who sport rather goofy special powers/moves ("Moon Gorgeous Meditation!"). While the dialogue occasionally rises to laughable heights ("I will not allow anyone to tarnish a star-drenched evening with senseless evil") and the animation is unexceptional (though some of the Dead Moon Circus fiends are quite imaginatively drawn), consider this perennial favorite a strong optional purchase.
