This is an inexpensive (under $10), entertaining, and educational guide to creating imaginative playthings out of objects commonly found around the home. Host Arte Johnson, formerly of Laugh-In fame, shows young viewers and their parents how to make stilts (coffee cans, rope), sock puppets (socks, magic marker, ribbon, tape), a milk carton city, a pencil teepee (five pencils, a rubber band, colored paper, tape), a potato printer (cut potatoes and food coloring on a sponge), a space walker (shoeboxes for moon boots, paper bags--simply decorated--for helmets), a kazoo, etc. In addition, many of these projects encourage motor coordination, use of the imagination, and a sense of responsibility in the household. Highly recommended.
