Dr. Bip, the animated balloon character last seen in A Hospital Trip with Dr. Bip (VL-11/95), returns to once again guide young kids through a potentially sticky situation: big competition in the attention department--a baby sibling. Using (sometimes forced) rhyming couplets, Dr. Bip rhapsodizes on the special care that newborns require, from careful holding to fairly regular diaper changes, and assures viewers that just because baby needs a lot of quality time, it doesn't mean that Mommy and Daddy have forgotten about them. In fact, as Dr. Bip points out, that wimpy little critter with the don't-touch-the-fontanel will, before long, grow up to be a pretty good playmate who--more likely than not--will look up to his big brother or sister (maybe). Likely to be helpful in reassuring young kids, Dr. Bip's New Baby Tips is still not in the same league with the superb Oh Baby! A Guide for Big Brothers and Big Sisters (VL-5/95). Optional. Aud: P.
